Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is based on an amazing principle that there are reflex points in the feet and hands which correspond to each organ, gland and structure in the body.

This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy and should not be considered as an alternative to conventional medicine.

Can Reflexology help me?

Reflexology is such a wonderfully relaxing treatment which is suitable for all ages, adults to children and may bring relief to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.

All of us can benefit from some time taken for ourselves, to relax and reduce the stresses due to the busy lifestyles we lead.

Reflexology can also be particularly helpful in dealing with many of those long term and recurring conditions that many of us think we just have to accept as normal.

What conditions can Reflexology help?

These are just a few of the more common conditions that have been successfully helped through reflexology and you can see from the list below, which is by no means complete, the varied areas in which reflexology may be able to help.

  • Sinusitis
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Asthma
  • Headaches, Migraine
  • Calming effect on stress
  • Hayfever
  • Allergies
  • PMT/PMS, Menstrual Problems
  • Hormonal Imbalances
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Insomnia
  • Back Problems, Sciatic Pain
  • Pre and Post Operative Care

How many treatments will I need?

A course of four or five treatments can often have an amazing result. Many clients then choose to have top-up treatments once every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain improvement. Each client is given a suggested treatment plan after the initial consultation.

Treatment plans will vary from client to client. Please call me to arrange an appointment or ask for more information on Brackley (01280) 701732.

The Treatment

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet and ankles - so only the feet need to be undressed.

The first appointment includes a consultation period, whereby the treatment can be tailored specifically for the client.

During the treatment the client lies on a reclining chair, supported with pillows and covered in a soft blanket – wonderful….

Reflex points on the feet and toes relate to body organs and body systems. These points are stimulated with a specific type of pressure. The organs and systems are encouraged to release toxins & tensions, so achieving a harmonious balance.

If you have ticklish feet, please don’t despair; reflexology does not tickle!

I even have a number of clients who initially hated their feet being touched. They now relax and enjoy the benefits of reflexology.

INTRODUCE A FRIEND

We all have a true friend, some are lucky enough to have more than one, someone you would like to give something to, so give this friend a treat, recommend her to Nightingales or even book her in for a treatment.

When your friend has had their treatment, Nightingales will send you both a friendship voucher as a token of our appreciation for introducing a new client.

FACIAL REFLEXOLOGY is a profoundly relaxing yet powerful therapy which is completely safe for all age groups and with virtually no contraindications. It is therefore of great assistance in helping you to restore balance and calm. A relaxed body is more able to heal, combat disease and resist infection.

What is Facial Reflexology? Facial Reflexology, which is a completely separate therapy to traditional Foot/Hand Reflexology, is both ancient and new. 'Ancient' because it uses several ancient face charts, and 'new' because it is the first time these charts have been drawn together and combined with a modern understanding of neurological points on the face to form one therapeutic practice.

How can Facial Reflexology Help You? During a Facial Reflexology session, neuro-vascular points, reflex zones, and certain neurological points are gently stimulated by hand, using only the finger-tips. This gentle stimulation sends impulses through the central nervous system and the meridians to the physical body and the major organs. In addition it stimulates blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, balances the hormones and treats the emotions. Stimulation of the points and zones on the face also triggers the release of endorphins (pleasure hormones) and serotonin (a chemical which promotes a calm and optimistic state of mind and which is instrumental in the treatment of conditions such as anxiety and depression).

Physical and emotional stress are now endemic within our modern society. This may be caused by problems in the workplace, unsatisfactory relationships, domestic situations, social pressures, unresolved emotional issues, environmental pollution or a generally unhealthy lifestyle and diet. It is now widely accepted that physical and emotional stress play a major role in the onset of disease so anything which combats this will significantly improve your quality of life and general well-being
